Key products, such as premium pasta, dried noodles, and fresh dried vermicelli, are produced on modern, fully enclosed production lines and follow high-quality management standards under HACCP, while also complying with the food safety regulations of the Ministry of Health.
The Mekong brand has achieved widespread coverage across Vietnam. In traditional markets, its products are available in most markets, grocery stores, and small retail points, thanks to a strong and professional distribution system. Additionally, its presence in supermarkets and on e-commerce platforms has expanded access, providing a diverse and convenient experience for a large customer base.
The Mekong brand has registered exclusive trademark protection not only within Vietnam but also in countries across the EU, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond, reinforcing the global reputation and value of its products.
In 1990, Vietnam’s economy was still in a transitional phase. The founder of Mekong, a mechanical engineer, decided to utilize his knowledge and passion by choosing the production of rice noodles and pasta as a potential industry—one that resonated with consumers and had a stable market.
Thanks to patience, creativity, and a continuous spirit of learning, the success of the Mekong brand has stemmed not only from the quality of its products but also from the trust it has built with consumers.
The Mekong rice pasta production facility began with a small investment and limited output, catering to the changing meal needs of families. With this goal, Mekong focused on selling products to wholesale and retail markets in the surrounding area.
As the market expanded, Mekong decided to enhance production, invest in new equipment, and diversify products to serve Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta region, while still producing in bulk.
The year 1997 brought a historic storm that severely damaged Mekong’s old workshop. However, instead of succumbing to despair, Mekong was determined to build a new workshop with more modern equipment and commit to higher product quality. Mekong began introducing small packaged products, making meal preparation convenient and safe for families.
In 2001, a major fire occurred at a neighboring workshop and spread to Mekong, resulting in total loss of machinery and the workshop. However, Mekong did not give up; instead, it was determined to invest in modernization, including a drying system to replace traditional sun-drying methods, improving productivity with new production lines, and protecting the environment through a wastewater treatment system.
Mekong expanded its production facility in Long An, opening opportunities to access international markets.
Products began to be exported through trade partners and became available in the USA, Australia, Eastern Europe, Germany, and many other countries.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mekong faced many challenges regarding raw materials, transportation, labor, and soaring costs. However, the production line continued to operate and produce, ensuring the supply of essential products for the community.
Mekong continuously strives to improve its workshop and machinery by applying modern technologies that meet food safety and operational safety standards. We are committed not only to meeting but also to exceeding the most stringent requirements of the food industry. By continually investing in enhancing our production infrastructure, we keep our workshop and machinery in optimal condition, ensuring performance and product quality.
